A 12-hour pre-recorded program on preventing and treating respiratory tract infections with herbs and natural methods.
The immune function is crucial for preventing respiratory tract infections and fighting them over their course. Maintaining a robust immune response is critical to avoiding illnesses of all kinds, including COVID.
In this on-demand program, Dr. Hobbs explains each of the major respiratory tract infections with an in-depth focus on treating accompanying symptoms.
Understanding the functions of the respiratory tract and the causes of symptoms and infections gives you an essential skill in staying safe from the myriad of pathogens that are all around us and in us. This understanding of how the immune system works its magic to keep us safe and learning how to nourish it will help you maintain a strong defense against viral and bacterial pathogens.
This is the promise of becoming knowledgeable in plant medicine – supportive, nourishing, and preventive care rooted in physiology, clinical data, tradition, and a connection with nature. Plant medicine is not an alternative but a natural complement to other forms of medicine. We couldn’t think of a more thorough expert to provide an in-depth program on respiratory health than Dr. Christopher Hobbs (bio below).
This workshop includes lifetime access to recordings, materials, bonuses, and access to Christopher Hobbs within the BotanicWise Community.
Here’s what you’ll learn in this 12-hour intensive:
- How the respiratory system functions during periods of health and illness
- The causes of symptoms and infection of the major respiratory illnesses
- Tried and true diagnostic methods
- The value of preventive care
- The most widely-used immune herbs, when to use them, and how to prepare them
- Which antibacterial and antiviral herbs are best for preventing and treating common viral and bacterial pathogens
- The best herbs and formulas for early prevention, treatment, and recovery from COVID
This program also includes the following:
- 4 Presentations (3 hours each) by Christopher Hobbs
- Extensive recorded Q&A following each live session
- Questions and answers are indexed for quick reference

📹 Classes Included
1: The Ins and Outs of the Respiratory Tract
Starting with the functions of the respiratory tract as well as the causes of symptoms and infections, Dr. Hobbs reviews significant respiratory illnesses, such as the common cold, flu, bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, and strep throat. This class goes in-depth on major symptoms such as cough, sinus congestion, sore throat, headache, fatigue, shortness of breath, fever, and more.
Blending knowledge from traditional systems of medicine, we explore the environmental and constitutional factors that can make us more susceptible to infection and allow the condition to take hold, progress, and last for an extended course. Understanding how the respiratory tract works, including the immune response, gives you a foundation for health and treatment.
2: Maintaining a Healthy Respiratory System
Traditional diagnostic methods, such as tongue diagnosis, are reviewed in this session to understand how to assess the individual’s constitution and their potential ability to deal with the pathogen effectively.
We also delve into preventive care methods, with a focus on immune strength, the breath, and herbs.
Dr. Hobbs systematically covers the most widely used immune herbs, when to use them, and how to prepare them. This session also covers tried and true methods to reduce stress and maintain peak immune response.
3: Antiviral and Antibacterial Herbs
Learn the most widely used antibacterial and antiviral herbs based on scientific research that strongly supports their use for preventing and treating common viral and bacterial pathogens. Dr. Hobbs shares his full bibliography of research for your reference.
Herbs are widely accessible, affordable, and can each have specific functions to address symptoms, including the underlying causes for each phase of the infection–prevention, early-stage, late-stage, and recovery.
Learn how to combine the most potent immune-stimulating herbs like Reishi, Turkey Tail, Astragalus, and other less well-known plants.
Some immune stimulants like Elderberry, Andrographis, and Elecampane are important to activate and mobilize the body’s defenses against the pathogen during active infection. Still, these aren’t always helpful in other stages of infection. When the virus or bacterial pathogens are active and spreading, we can combine immune stimulants, potent antibacterials, and herbs for symptomatic relief in classic and custom formulas.
By understanding the herbs available and when and how to combine them, you can address symptoms, support immune function, repair tissue, and recover most effectively.
4: Addressing COVID
Dr. Hobbs has prepared this session to go deep into the topic of COVID-19 and herbal support.
What will happen next with the pandemic? Drawing from the current literature and the history of pandemics and plagues, Dr. Hobbs proposes the most predictable course from here.
To best understand the most effective herbal formulas to treat COVID, he emphasizes the use of herbs where scientific studies have revealed specific anti-COVID effects. We underline readily and sustainably sourced herbs to be best prepared to support ourselves and our communities in future waves of respiratory illness.
This session also includes handouts of the best herbs and formulas to have on hand for the early prevention stage, treatment phases, as well as herbs that have been used for more serious infections, including guidelines for helping to determine when to consult with a physician and what symptoms might require hospitalization.
