Since she was a very little girl, Meg Madden has been in deep relationship with the plants of the Piedmont region of Virginia and the plants of place anywhere else she found herself. This loving connection has supported her through varied life experiences, including coming of age in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, traveling abroad, bartending, teaching dance, digging ditches, writing songs, farming, and everything in between. Now, Meg is a practicing clinical herbalist, community herbalist, and co-owner of The Elderberry, an herbal apothecary in Charlottesville. She is a graduate of Sacred Plant Traditions, a long-term mentee of Suzanna Stone. She holds a degree in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, with a minor in Psychology, from Virginia Commonwealth University.
