Āyurveda is a system of well-being rooted in a tradition lasting over five thousand years. The Sanskrit word “Āyurveda” means “the sacred knowledge of life.” It offers us an active, participatory journey toward healing.
Forget about popping herbal pills and waiting for a magical transformation. Āyurveda calls us to see ourselves through its principles, the foundation for understanding the laws of nature, guiding us to take action to foster wellness and prevent disease.
Only when we have set the stage by understanding the basics can we turn to the doshas, vata, pitta, and kapha for a deeper understanding and refinement of our health protocol.
In this workshop with renowned herbalist Todd Caldecott, you’ll learn principles and practices that provide a deep insight into the nature of health and disease. You’ll gain tools to restore, balance, and optimize health with everyday practices that you can start today. Discover for yourself the amazingly integrated and holistic perspective of the ancient tradition of Āyurveda.

Session 1 – The Holistic Philosophy of Āyurveda: This class is an introductory guide to the big ideas behind Āyurveda, a holistic way of approaching health that includes everything about a person and their world. We’ll introduce important concepts such as the three doshas and the way energy moves in our bodies. We’ll also learn about the Āyurvedic framework to deeply understand a truly holistic approach to health and wellness.
🗓️ Saturday, February 3, 2024 | 2-5 PM ET
Session 2 – The Three Humors of Āyurveda: In this class, we’ll build on the framework of Session 1. We’ll go beyond the basics and take a deep look at the doshas, also known as the ‘humoral theory of Ayurveda.’ We’ll see how these doshas connect to our bodies, impact our health, and even how they change with the seasons and as we grow. Understanding how our doshas interact provides a framework for action to bring our health into a state of dynamic balance.
🗓️ Sunday, February 4, 2024 | 2-5 PM ET
Session 3 – Preventative Practices in Āyurveda: Using what we’ve learned about the three doshas, this class will look at how Ayurveda helps us prevent sickness. We’ll talk about daily routines, eating habits, and changes we should make with each season. The daily routine, or dinacaryā, is about doing things that match our body’s natural clock. This includes taking care of ourselves in ways that help both our body and mind stay healthy. Āhāra is about understanding what foods are good for us and how to eat them in a way that helps our digestion. Finally, ṛtucaryā is about understanding how different seasons affect our bodies. We’ll learn how to get ready for these changes and adjust our habits to stay healthy throughout the year.
